Do I Have to have a shotgun licence to shoot on the NCSC complex?

The NCSC has an exemption certificate, which allows those individuals who do not possess a shotgun licence to shoot under supervision. If you do require supervision the cost of a lesson is £70 including all consumables, the lesson will last one hour.

Do I have to be a member to shoot at the NCSC?

No, the NCSC runs a members and non-members scheme side by side. It is public facility as much as possible within the law so we make provision for as many levels of shooting experience as possible. If you join the NCSC this entitles you to discounts on practice rounds i.e. instead of £6.25 per 25 clays (excld cartridges) you can shoot at £5.25 per 25 clays (excld cartridges) in all disciplines except for Double Trap which is £8.00 and £7.00 respectively.

What days are you open?

We are open 6 days a week from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive. (We are closed on Mondays for maintenance). From Mid May to Mid September we are open on Wednesday and Thursday from 9am until 8pm and Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 5pm.

Do I have to book to use the facility?

WNo, but we recommend that everyone who wants to shoot at the NCSC calls before they attend 01483 797 666. As we sometimes host Corporate Hospitality groups, tuition, courses and competitions during the week, this then closes some / all layouts to practice.

When I get to the facility what do I need todo?

When you reach the NCSC you must sign in at Reception and pay for your practice sessions or meet your instructor. For practice sessions you purchase tokens at Reception. The tokens must then be inserted into the booths on the skeet and trap layouts.

Can I bring a group of novices along to shoot?

No, only under supervision of one of our members of staff. A group of up to 3 novices can be taken for one to one tuition by our Instructor. Any larger, from 4 to 6 individuals, and the group will be regarded as a Corporate Hospitality function and the group will be given a fun shoot with adaptions of the formal disciplines. Three instructors will be supplied for a maximum of 18 individuals.

Can I give a gift of shooting?

We provide Gift vouchers for clay shooting instruction. The price is £76,00, this includes one to one tuition with a NCSC instructor and up to 75 cartridges and clays, safety equipment and shotgun. Gift vouchers can be valid for 6 months.

What is the minumum age of shooting at the NCSC?

As per the NRA Range regulations the minimum age is 14.

If I shoot sporting clays what discipline will help my aim?

If you shoot sporting clays the favoured discipline is English Skeet.

Can I combine a group shoot with lunch or a meeting?

Yes we can provide a function room to either host a meeting or run a course. Our in house caterer can provide a selection of menus to suit all tastes and budgets.
